👋 City Hall will become a much safer place, thanks to increased security measures that were unanimously approved by the City Council.
Councilmembers voted to approve more than $200,000 from the city’s general fund reserves to pay for increased security measures, including a full-time security manager, walk-through and hand-held metal detectors, and bulletproof drapes and curtains for the council chambers conference room.
“When you come down here,” Vice Mayor Jason Lee said, addressing those in attendance at Tuesday’s meeting, “we want you to be safe.”
