A 49-year-old woman was stabbed while sleeping inside her vehicle in Stockton’s Civic District earlier this week, police said.
The attack happened on Monday in the 800 block of East Market Street. The Stockton Police Department said on Wednesday that the woman was asleep in her car when a suspect opened the door and stabbed her.
The victim was able to flee, and on the next day, she drove herself to a local hospital and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police described the suspect as a white woman. No other information was immediately available.
