A Stockton man has been found guilty of sex trafficking three minors who were residents of a local foster youth residential facility.

David Hall was convicted Friday  of human trafficking minors, lewd acts on a child under 14 and oral copulation with a minor, according to San Joaquin County District Attorney Ron Freitas.

In the summer of 2023, Hall targeted vulnerable children from the facility, picked them up, and forced them into commercial sex work in Stockton and surrounding areas, according to the DA’s Office,

Several victims were transported into Stockton from all across California to testify in Hall’s trial.

The case was investigated by the Stockton Police Department Vice Unit, with assistance from the San Joaquin County Juvenile Probation Department and investigators from the  DA’s office..

“There is no greater priority for this office than the safety and dignity of our children,” Freitas said. “Defendant Hall didn’t just break the law; he systematically and intentionally pursued vulnerable children who were already in need of our protection.”

Deputy District Attorney Lisa Mann prosecuted the case.

Sentencing is scheduled for Monday.

Hall has a prior 2016 strike conviction for assault with a firearm. He now faces an enhanced prison sentence, additional strikes, and lifetime sex offender registration.
