A lockdown placed on San Joaquin Delta College’s Stockton campus was lifted Thursday afternoon after a person was on campus with a gun.

The college said on Twitter that the campus was clear, and the lockdown had ended as of 3:25 p.m.

San Joaquin Delta College District police said an armed robbery had occurred at a mall across the street from the campus and the suspect had fled to the campus.

The firearm was in the suspect’s waistband at the time of the robbery, according to campus police.

The college said on Twitter at the time of the lockdown that the suspect was near the Cunningham parking lots.

A spokesperson for the college said no shots had been fired and the lockdown was issued out of an abundance of caution for students and faculty.

Police said they made numerous searches of the campus before lifting the lockdown.
