As part of its North American tour, the State Ballet Theatre of Ukraine will bring a performance of “Swan Lake” to Stockton this spring.

The one-night only event showcases a newly reimagined stage production that premiered in Ukraine to sold-out audiences in 2020.

The performance features a ballet troupe of 50 dancers and over 200 custom-designed costumes, immersing audiences in the romance and tragedy of the timeless love story. The iconic ballet features music by Pyotr Tchaikovsky and choreography by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov.

“This is a story for all ages. If you believe in a dream, the dream can come true,” tour producer Michael Art said. “ ‘Swan Lake’ has wonderful music — complex, philosophical, with love and tragedy. It has become one of the most striking ballets in our repertoire.”

The production aims to transport audiences into a magical world, filled with vibrant costumes, stunning scenery and an enchanting atmosphere.

“Our main task is for the audience to get drunk on this amazing performance and want to come to the theater again,” the artistic team said.

The show will run 7-9 p.m. May 4 at the Bob Hope Theatre, 242 E. Main St., Stockton. Tickets can be purchased through the Stockton Live website starting at $53.55.
