STOCKTON— Hundreds of people attended the National Night out event on Yosemite street this last week.

Community organizations included Stockton Animal Services, Girl Scouts Heart of Central California, Little Manilla Rising and many more. Community members of all ages took part in activities such as glitter tattoos, purchased plants, viewed art and musical performances.

Tibon’s Goju Ryu Fighting Arts showed off a variety of karate techniques from beginner movements to breaking a stack of concrete.

The evening capped off with a watermelon eating contest. Councilmember Mario Enríquez won the second event with competitors ages 11 and up.
