The first weekend of June brings live music, outdoor recreation and community celebrations across Stockton and the surrounding region.
From a Grammy-winning performer to farmers markets, festivals and a bubble-filled race, here’s what’s happening June 5-7.

Grammy Award-winning singer LeAnn Rimes performs at the Bob Hope Theatre for a one-night concert. Rimes rose to fame as a teenager with the hit “Blue” and has recorded chart-topping songs such as “How Do I Live” and “Can’t Fight the Moonlight.” The performance features selections from her decades-long career in country and pop music.
The Haggin Museum offers free admission on the first Saturday of every month. Visitors can explore permanent art and history exhibits along with rotating exhibitions. The museum is located in Victory Park and features American and European works from the 19th and early 20th centuries.
San Joaquin County Parks and Recreation and the Delta Fly Fishers host the Annual Catfish Derby at Oak Grove Regional Park. More than 1,500 pounds of catfish will be planted ahead of the event. The derby is open to all ages, with youth and adult prize categories. Participants must provide their own equipment. A fishing permit and valid California fishing license are required for anglers 16 and older.
The San Joaquin Certified Farmers Market partners with the Promenade Shops at Orchard Valley to host a seasonal farmers market near Bass Prom Shops. Vendors offer farm-fresh produce and handcrafted goods in an open-air setting. The market runs weekly through October.
Rooted & Rising celebrates Stockton Scholars' students at Banner Island Ballpark. The event includes family activities, community resources and a movie night on the field. Organizers will recognize graduating high school seniors entering the Stockton Scholars program and college graduates transitioning to alumni status.
The Skedaddle Bubble Run returns to Michael Faklis Park and features a 1K for children 12 and under, a 5K and a 10-mile run. Participants pass through bubble zones and finish with a foam celebration. The event benefits the Emergency Food Bank of Stockton and San Joaquin County. There will be no race-day registration.
Whether you’re heading downtown for a concert, fishing at Oak Grove or joining a family festival, the first weekend in June kicks off with multiple ways to connect with the community.
