Stockton’s city attorney is resigning less than five months after the City Council selected her to lead the city’s legal office. Arredondo said she had received another employment opportunity, and her last day will be Aug. 5.
Arredondo’s departure will mark the third leadership change in Stockton’s legal department in less than seven months, reports Andrea Baltodano.
Meanwhile, Democratic Rep. Josh Harder is pressing Immigration and Customs Enforcement for answers — again — about enforcement activity in Stockton and the Central Valley. DHS told Stocktonia claims about the ICE facility’s “subprime conditions” were false. ICE does not “separate families or deport U.S. citizens,” an unnamed spokesperson said in a statement.
