Good morning, Stockton.
After years of planning and renovation, parts of Stockton’s new City Hall are now open to the public.
Ahead of its full summer debut, residents can already use the renovated space for bill payments, permit requests and other services. Aaron Leathley reports that the partial opening marks a milestone in a project that has drawn attention for both its cost and its timeline. For residents who regularly visit City Hall, the shift brings a new setting for everyday civic business. Meanwhile, the San Joaquin Regional Transit District has selected former deputy CEO Kimberly Turner as interim chief executive as the agency continues to navigate leadership turnover.
We’re also tracking a weekend lineup that includes the Almond Blossom Festival and Black History Night downtown, Delta College’s temporary closure due to heating issues and the city’s $2 million CalVIP grant aimed at reducing gun violence.
Thank you for starting your day with us. We’ll continue covering the changes that shape life across Stockton.
