Good morning, Stockton.

๐ Last night, our reporters covered the candidate forums at Delta College. Although the event format didnโt allow for follow-up questions, it provided an opportunity for residents to hear directly from the candidates as they responded to questions posed by a panel that included reporters and representatives from Delta’s student government and the League of Women Voters. The candidates participating were those running for Stockton mayor and city council districts 4 and 6. The room was notably quite full.
Looking ahead, weโre eager to sit down with the candidates over the next month for one-on-one interviews. We always value hearing from Stockton and San Joaquin County residents about the issues that matter most, so if you haven’t yet, please take a moment to fill out our reader survey below and help guide our questions for the candidates.
Today, we have stories on a new investigation into a council member, a bomb threat at a county building, and an upcoming workshop on homeownership. Look out for our reporting on last night’s forum later today.
Thank you, and as always, feel free to reply directly to this email with any feedback.
