School board decisions can shape what options families have for years to come. One vote this week settled a closely watched proposal for a new high school in central Stockton.
Trustees with the Stockton Unified School District voted to deny a petition from KIPP Public Schools to open a new high school in University Park. Vince Medina reports that six board members voted against the proposal, which would have expanded the Knowledge Is Power Program network in Stockton. The decision means the charter operator will not move forward with the campus under the current petition.
