Good morning, Stockton.

The San Joaquin Asparagus Festival is on for this weekend – in large part due to the work of my Stocktonia colleagues.
Reporter Aaron Leathley was speaking with San Joaquin County Fairgrounds CEO Daniel Castillo, when she found out about a monthslong power outage there and alerted assistant editor Cassie Dickman, who passed the tip along to reporter Chris Woodyard.
After Woodyard broke the story on Stocktonia.org Wednesday morning and it was picked up by other news outlets, Castillo said crews jumped into action.
“Stocktonia has played a major role in getting power on (in time for) the Asparagus Festival,” Castillo told Woodyard. The festival “is going to happen in large part because of your guys’ reporting.”
Woodyard says he was “delighted and shocked” at the impact the story had made. “This is one of those stories that makes you feel proud as a reporter.”
