A 71-year-old woman died after she was stabbed early Monday morning in Stockton, and a suspect who knew her was taken into custody, police said.
The stabbing was reported at about 4:10 a.m. in the 2500 block of East Anita Street.
Officers arrived and arrested the suspect at the scene. The victim was taken to a hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
Detectives responded and are investigating the homicide.
No additional details were immediately released.
