A 44-year-old Manteca man was arrested on multiple counts of alleged child pornography, according to the Manteca Police Department.
Edward King faces five felony charges including lewd or lascivious acts with a child under the age of 14, two charges of possessing obscene matter of a minor and two charges of possessing and distributing obscene matter of a minor to another minor, according to San Joaquin County Jail records.
Manteca Police Detectives received an investigative tip from the FBI Utah Field Office about King on Jan. 29, according to a news release from MPD. The tip shared that King was allegedly talking online about uploading, distributing and producing child pornography.
King was arrested the next day at his place of employment in Tracy.
Police searched King’s home in Manteca and say they found electronic devices that allegedly had evidence of his accused crimes.
Investigators say they found that King allegedly took close-up voyeur style photographs of the intimate parts of girls between the ages of 5 and 15-years-old in public places.
King previously worked in the Bay Area and had a prior arrest in Contra Costa County, according to police. Details on King’s previous arrest were not provided.
King was booked into San Joaquin County Jail, and his next court date is scheduled for April 16 at the Manteca Branch of San Joaquin County Superior Court.
