Sunny and warmer weather is forecasted for Stockton and San Joaquin County this weekend after a brief round of showers moves out of the region, according to the National Weather Service.

A weather system brought light rain and breezy conditions to Northern California on Wednesday, breaking a recent stretch of dry weather, according to the NWS. The rain was light in the Valley, with less than a tenth of an inch forecasted, with any remaining showers likely coming to an end by early Thursday morning.

Thursday is expected to experience mostly sunny skies with a high near 65 degrees, according to the NWS. A few lingering showers are possible during the morning, but conditions will quickly dry out. Northwest winds will be noticeable at times, with gusts up to 20 mph, the NWS shows.

Friday will turn warmer and sunny, with highs climbing to around 73 degrees. Light winds are expected, according to the NWS forecast.

The weather service expects Saturday will bring even more comfortable temperatures, with sunny skies and highs reaching near 80 degrees

Sunday will be the warmest day of the weekend, mostly sunny with highs in the low to mid 80s, the NWS forecast shows.

The cooler trend will feel noticeable compared with recent weeks, as daytime temperatures have run several degrees higher than normal in March. Overnight lows will stay mild, generally in the upper 40s to low 50s, according to the NWS forecast.

No rain or significant storms are expected through at least early next week.
