The Stockton Ports opened their 2025 season Tuesday night with a 6-2 win over the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, celebrating both a strong start and the 20th anniversary of Banner Island Ballpark.

The milestone night brought out longtime fans, first-time attendees and generations of families to honor the team’s legacy and enjoy the springtime return of California League baseball.

“It just means longevity and commitment to the city,” said fan Brian Brice, who’s held season tickets since 2013.

The night blended baseball with community celebration. Former Ports player Patrick Dobson returned to throw out the ceremonial first pitch with his son Tiegan, calling it a full-circle moment.

“Growing up in a community that has experiences like this — you can’t ask for much more,” he said.

Season ticket holders Jay and Lauren Frazier shared memories of meeting Major League Baseball legends, bringing their dogs to the park and enjoying themed game nights.
