Communities across the country will be marking America’s 250th birthday this weekend. And Stockton has its own Independence Day celebrations planned.
Along with the city’s annual Fourth of July parade and fireworks showcase, the holiday weekend offers opportunities to support women’s baseball, enjoy a movie downtown and spend time at other community events.

Families can settle in for a free showing of "Toy Story" while spending time inside The Underground Arcade. Guests are welcome to play arcade games before each screening, making it an easy afternoon outing for children and parents during the holiday weekend. Three showtimes are available throughout the day, and organizers plan to host another movie event later in July.
The Women's Professional Baseball League brings its Countdown Tour to Stockton Ballpark ahead of the league's inaugural season. Players will take part in an open training session before an evening FanFest that will include autographs and photo opportunities. The stop gives baseball fans an early look at athletes preparing for the league's first season while highlighting the continued growth of women's professional baseball.
Unity in the Community Fest returns to Stockton Ballpark on the eve of Independence Day and focuses on bringing residents together. The celebration features entertainment throughout the afternoon before ending with fireworks at night. Organizers encourage families to gather at the ballpark as the city begins its Fourth of July weekend celebration.
For generations, boaters have gathered on the Delta to watch the Barron Hilton fireworks display at Mandeville Island. What began as a family tradition has grown into one of the region's best-known Independence Day events. Today, the fireworks are launched from a barge on the San Joaquin River, drawing spectators from across the Delta who watch from boats as the display lights up the water after sunset.
Downtown Stockton hosts the city's annual Independence Day celebration with a parade through downtown followed by an evening festival at Weber Point Events Center. The celebration concludes with fireworks over the waterfront and serves as Stockton's signature event honoring the nation's 250th birthday. American Legion Karl Ross Post 16 hosts this year's festivities, continuing one of the city's longest-running holiday traditions.
