Celebrate the final weekend of August with ceramic art, family festivals, Pow Wow traditions, tequila tastings and smoky barbecue glory. Stockton’s got a little bit of everything this weekend — here’s your guide to what’s happening.

Visions In Clay Exhibition Opening Reception
Date: Thursday, Aug. 28 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Location: LH Horton Jr Gallery, Delta College
The 16th annual “Visions in Clay” opens at Delta College with works by 44 ceramic artists from around the country. Awards will be announced during the opening reception. Free and open to the public.


Stockton Tequila Festival
Date: Saturday, Aug. 30 from noon to 7:30 p.m.
Location: Weber Point Events Center
Live performances by Warren G, B-Legit and more set the soundtrack for a day of tequila tastings and good vibes. General admission starts at $30, VIP upgrades available. More info at smaent.com.


209 Meat Up at Brethren Brewing
Date: Saturday, Aug. 30 from noon to 6 p.m.
Location: Brethren Brewing Co., 200 block of North Main Street
It’s barbecue season. This first-ever event features 22 food trucks, live music and smoky samples from top pitmasters. Entry is free, with food available for purchase. Try the “Smokin’ Irish Red Ale” made for the occasion.


Stockton Labor Day Pow Wow
Date: Saturday, Aug. 30 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 31 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Location: Wendell Phillips Center Lawn, University of the Pacific
Celebrate Native American culture through dance, music, frybread and handmade goods. Free family event hosted by UOP and the Stockton Pow Wow committee.


5th Annual Family Fun Day Picnic
Date: Sunday, Aug. 31 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Location: Taft Park and Community Center
Enjoy free food, games, live music, jumpers and community booths at this all-day event in south Stockton. No admission required.

Whether you’re soaking up art, dancing at the Pow Wow, sampling smoky BBQ or raising a glass at the Tequila Fest, this weekend is packed with ways to connect, celebrate and support the Stockton community. Whatever you choose, get out there and make the most of it.
