StocktonCon Winter is returning for its seventh year with a packed lineup of celebrities, exhibitors and fan activities this weekend at the Adventist Health Arena.
The two-day event runs Saturday through Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, with tickets are available for pre-sale at a discounted price through the arena’s box office or online.
Tickets are $20 for Saturday and Sunday for ages 13 and older. Children under 12-years-old get in for free.
“We always try to keep StocktonCon and affordable event for families and families that are entertaining for children of all ages,” StocktonCon founder Mike Millerick said. “It’s just another chance for folks to come out and have a fun, friendly family day. We will have costume contests, and comic book writers, artists and actors, including panels for fans to meet their favorite actors.”
StocktonCon started as a one-day gathering at the University of the Pacific in 2012, and grew into one of the largest fan conventions, drawing thousands to Stockton each year.
The next StocktonCon Summer is planned this year between July 11 through July 12.
Over 200 exhibitor and artist booths are expected this year to be stocked with comic books, action figures, Funko Pops, rare finds and custom art commissions. There will also be opportunities for meet-and-greets, according to the press release.
The guest list includes pro wrestlers such as Saraya (former WWE NXT Women’s Champion and AEW star, appearing Saturday only), Tomasso Ciampa (WWE NXT Champion and AEW TNT Champion), Thunder Rosa (AEW Women’s Champion), Jack Perry, Anna Jay and more from All Elite Wrestling, according to the press release.
“The Boys” actors Laz Alonso (Mother’s Milk) and Jessie T. Usher (A-Train) will be at the event along with C. Andrew Nelson and Lauren Mary Kim from Star Wars, according to the press release.
Voice actors will feature Eric Vale (“My Hero Academia,” “One Piece”), Grey DeLisle-Griffin (“Avatar: The Last Airbender,” “Scooby-Doo”) and Janet Varney (“The Legend of Korra”).
Comic creators will also include Amy Chu (“Poison Ivy”), Scott Koblish (“Deadpool”) and Tony Fleecs (“Stray Dogs”), with local and indie artists like Brad Simpson and Ramon Villalobos also on hand.
There will also be a costume contest at 4 p.m. each day in the arena’s panel rooms near the main entrance, ages 13 and up on Saturday, kids 12 and under on Sunday.
Additional security measures include backpack regulations 17’’x14”x6.” While guests may return to their car to put items away, there are no “ins and outs” at the arena for security reasons, according to a social media post from StocktonCon.
