From a historic film premiere at the Haggin Museum to live theater at Delta College and a weekend of cosplay at StocktonCon, there’s a wide range of events happening across the city. Food-focused fundraisers and seasonal dining experiences also round out the schedule. Here’s a look at what’s happening in Stockton this weekend.

Movie Screening at the Haggin

Description

The Stockton Sister Cities Association will host the American premiere of “The Marriage of Two Cities” from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27 at the Haggin Museum, 1201 N. Pershing Ave. The film explores the history of the World War II Italian POW camp in Stockton and the story that unfolds when love bridges two cities. The evening includes appetizers and wine. Seating is limited.

Delta Drama: “Let the Right One In”

Description

Delta Drama presents “Let the Right One In,” adapted from the bestselling novel and award-winning film. The production follows Oskar, a bullied teenager, and Eli, a mysterious girl who moves in next door, as a series of killings unsettles their neighborhood. The story blends horror and friendship in a coming-of-age stage adaptation.

StocktonCon Winter

Description

StocktonCon Winter returns with more than 100 artists, exhibitors and special guests. The two-day event features comics, collectibles, art commissions and cosplay. A portion of proceeds will benefit local charities. Children 12 and under are free with a paying adult.

Cast Iron Vegan Roast

Description

Cast Iron Trading Co. will host a one-night-only plant-based dinner featuring a new all-vegan menu made with ingredients from local farms. The family-style meal highlights seasonal Central Valley flavors. Reservations are required and seating is limited.

Description

The Mexican Heritage Center & Gallery will host its annual Sopas de Amor fundraiser featuring soups prepared by local restaurants representing different regions of Mexico. The event includes raffles, art sales and mariachi music. Proceeds support programs and activities at the center.
