Stockton is a special place. And no one knows that better than the people who live here.

After a fall marked by tragic events, we asked Stocktonians to share stories about their hometown: where they remember happiness; where they seek help; where they find beauty and peace.

The answers were as wide-ranging as they were unforgettable.

“My happiest memory in Stockton … is not a single moment at all,” longtime educator and Stockton native John Semillo told us. “It is the choice I made to live my life here.”

In the latest issue of Stocktonia magazine, we explore what makes our city a place like nowhere else, with stories from our readers and our staff.
