Late April brings a mix of community festivals, cultural performances and family-friendly events across Stockton and the surrounding region.
From large-scale food celebrations to student theater and charity runs, the weekend offers lots of ways to get involved and have fun.

The San Joaquin Asparagus Festival returns to the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds for three days of food, entertainment and family activities. Highlights include Asparagus Alley, featuring deep-fried asparagus and asparagus ice cream, carnival rides, live music and vendor booths. Festival admission includes main-stage entertainment.
Second Chances Month Job & Resource Fair
Friends Outside hosts the Stockton Second Chances Month Celebration, featuring a job and resource fair and keynote speaker Dave Dahl, founder of Dave’s Killer Bread. The event includes employment resources, expungement assistance and community services for individuals impacted by incarceration. The resource fair runs 10 a.m.-noon, with remarks beginning at 12:30 p.m.
The inaugural Stockton Rose Garden Tour features five private and public rose gardens across the city. Guests can enjoy refreshments, live music, floral demonstrations and conversations with master gardeners at each location.
The Lodi Beer Fest & State BBQ Championship features tastings from local and national breweries along with a Kansas City Barbecue Society-sanctioned competition. Attendees can enjoy live music, food vendors and games. Participants must be 21 or older.
Weston Ranch High School presents “The Prince of Egypt,” a stage adaptation of the animated film following the story of Moses and the Exodus. The production features music by Stephen Schwartz and showcases student performers in a full-scale musical.
The High Five Color Run features 1K, 5K and 10K courses where participants are doused with color powder along the route. The event supports classroom projects through DonorsChoose and encourages runners and walkers of all ages to participate.
With food festivals, fundraisers, student performances and community gatherings, there are multiple ways to support local organizations and enjoy the spring season across Stockton and the surrounding region. Get out there and have some fun this weekend.
