We’re in the period now when the summer heat is ebbing, with October and spooky season still on the horizon.
But there’s still things to do in the area, with the return of two staple festivals on top of musical and movie offerings.

The Stockton Civic Theatre's musical look at "America’s most infamous outlaw lovers" kicks into high gear this weekend, with 7:30 p.m. performances through the 27th (2:30 p.m. on Sunday shows)
Now nearing its 90th year, this has become one of Lodi's signature events with not just food vendors and a carnival, but live entertainment throughout the weekend.
This free festival returns for its 15th year, celebrating the theme of "Rooted in Community. Resilient in Action" with local vendors and non-profit groups on hand as well as live drag performances in both English and Spanish.
University of the Pacific hosts this performance by the Pacific Jazz Ensemble paying tribute to the icon of American jazz music, who was born in May 1926.
Step back into time with this all-time film classic starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. The movie starts at 2 p.m., but come in early and enjoy some music on the theater's Robert Morton Organ at 1:30 p.m.
