Basketball is back in downtown Stockton this weekend as the Stockton Kings open their season with a celebration of the 209.
Just a short walk from the arena, the Stockton Ports are putting the ballpark to use for a different kind of event before winter arrives.
Elsewhere, residents can spend Saturday supporting a local cause or taking advantage of free admission at one of Stockton’s longtime cultural landmarks. Here are a few events happening Nov. 6-8.
The Stockton Kings return to Adventist Health Arena for their 2026-27 home opener against the Santa Cruz Warriors. The Sacramento Kings' NBA G League affiliate will celebrate its Stockton roots with a 209-themed opening night featuring community activities and entertainment on the arena's Fan Deck. The game marks the beginning of another season of professional basketball in downtown Stockton.
The Stockton Ports are hosting their inaugural Dog Days of Fall Fest at Banner Island Ballpark, giving the downtown stadium a new purpose during baseball's offseason. The afternoon event will feature hot dog vendors and activities throughout the concourse. Visitors can explore the ballpark before the Stockton Kings tip off their home opener later that evening at nearby Adventist Health Arena.
HerVoiceDoesMatter and Skedaddle are teaming up for the Her Fall Forward 5K at Michael Faklis Park. The event aims to raise awareness about challenges facing women and girls while supporting organizations that provide assistance to families in need. A portion of the proceeds will benefit local women's and children's shelters. HerVoiceDoesMatter is a student-led nonprofit focused on empowering women and girls through community programs.
Grammy-nominated singer Ruben Studdard brings his Masterpiece Tour to Tracy's Grand Theatre Center for the Arts. Studdard rose to national fame after winning the second season of "American Idol" and has since built a career spanning R&B and gospel music. His latest tour features selections from his catalog alongside newer material from his album "The Way I Remember It."
The Haggin Museum opens its doors for free as part of its monthly first Saturday admission program. Located in Victory Park, the museum features American and European artwork alongside exhibits exploring Stockton's history. Visitors can tour the permanent collections and current exhibitions without paying the regular admission fee.
Saturday will be an especially active day downtown, with the ballpark welcoming visitors just hours before the Kings take the court. It’s a reminder that Stockton’s major venues still have plenty happening, even as the year winds down.
