The Uplift All Foundation’s Health Fair at Stockton Memorial Civic Auditorium on Saturday provided crucial health and social services to low-income families, the homeless population, and individuals in need throughout the Stockton area.
The organizers considered the event an important success.
“Today’s event, it’s truly our ability to give back to community,” said Ron Amador, Director of Services for Uplift All Foundation.
The fair planning began in early March, with the intention of offering a wide range of free services aimed at addressing various health and wellness needs.
Attendees had access to services such as acupuncture, dental education and oral screenings, and basic health checkups performed by primary care physicians.

In addition to health services, participants could receive free haircuts, enjoy meals, and access resources for employment support.
For those needing specialized care, mobile trucks were stationed outside the auditorium, offering mammogram screenings, laundry facilities, and shower stations. The foundation also provided assistance to individuals without phones, helping them stay connected for job hunting, reaching out to family and other essential services.
The event aimed to address disparities in healthcare access for underserved populations, especially in Stockton’s downtown area, where the need is significant. Volunteers and professionals from various fields came together to support this cause, dedicating their time and expertise.
“I got my blood pressure checked, I got my diabetes checked, then I went to the
back and seen one of the doctor’s there,” said Ernest Stevens, a Stockton resident. “I got some very good positive information that I am overwhelmed with, so I am really happy about coming here today. This is an extraordinary organization, they do a lot for the public,” he said.

The health fair was also a community-building effort, drawing attention to the ongoing struggles of low-income families and the unhoused in Stockton.
“It’s aligned with our mission to serve the people and whatever they need,” said Chinu Mehdi, President of Uplift All Foundation. “These are the needs they wanted, other than health we provide laundry services, showers, as well as haircuts and workshops, so hopefully this is an annual thing or we can have this every six months, so that can bring these services under one roof again to people who have been ignored for a long time. They need these services but they don’t have access and we are all about accessibility.”
