A 28-year-old man remained in critical condition after being ejected from his car during a rollover crash Sunday afternoon on Highway 4 in Stockton, according to California Highway Patrol.

The man was driving a Honda Civic east on Highway 4, west of Wilson Way, at about 3:20 p.m. Sunday when he swerved left for an unknown reason and struck the concrete center median barrier, CHP Stockton spokesperson Itzel Aguilar said.

The Civic overturned several times, ejecting the driver into the highway’s left lane, Aguilar said. He was the only person inside the vehicle.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he remained in critical condition, according to CHP.

Investigators have not determined whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
