Good morning, Stockton.

I’m excited to say hello in my first Morning Briefing as part of the Stocktonia team.
Some of you may know me from my work at Fat City Feed, where I served as editor-in-chief and helped build the nonprofit news site from the ground up. I’m now joining Stocktonia as content coordinator, and I’m thrilled to help shape our coverage of education, things to do and uplifting community stories — while also connecting with you through newsletters, social media and local events.
Now, onto today’s top story: The San Joaquin County Fairgrounds is still without power nearly two months after a fire damaged key electrical systems. Crews are racing to make repairs ahead of festival season. Chris Woodyard has the latest.
Keep reading to stay informed and connected to your community — I’m looking forward to sharing this space with you.
