A man wanted by authorities and a woman who allegedly attempted to help him escape were arrested Tuesday after the suspect barricaded himself inside a home in Stockton, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office said.
Rudolph Delsie, 37, of Stockton, had enclosed himself inside a residence or nearby yard in the 1200 block of Carlton Avenue, deputies announced at 5:12 p.m. on social media.
According to a spokesperson from the Sheriff’s Office, about three weeks ago deputies had attempted to conduct a car stop on Delsie for a traffic infraction.
Delsie allegedly fled the scene and attempted to ram the deputy’s vehicle.
He and another person in the vehicle took off on foot and dropped firearms while escaping.
A continued investigation led deputies to the residence on Carlton Avenue.
“Suspect is wanted for assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer, felon in possession of a firearm, and evading law enforcement with disregard for public safety,” the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post Tuesday.
A woman inside the home who has not been identified allegedly tried to help Delsie avoid arrest.
