A 19-year-old man who is already in custody for a deadly shooting last year in Stockton is believed to be responsible for another fatal shooting this year, the Stockton Police Department said this week.
Stacie Mischal was first arrested on April 18 for his alleged involvement in a homicide on August 4, 2022 that occurred at Morada Lane and Maranatha Drive which left Jaylen Malone, 19, of Lathrop, dead.
Upon further investigation, police believe he committed another shooting on April 2 in the area of California and Oak streets shortly before midnight.
Police said officers responded to the area on a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, they located a 22-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The man died after being taken to a local hospital, said police.
Detectives said additional evidence from the shooting led them to identify Mischal as the suspect.
Police added the additional homicide to Mischal’s booking status.
