A shooting and a separate stabbing were reported within the same hour Thursday evening in Stockton.
Police said at they received reports at 7:10 p.m. of a 39-year-old man shot near Airport Way and Duck Creek.
The man was taken to a hospital after suffering a gunshot wound but is expected to survive, police said.
Doroteo Hernandez, 62, was arrested in connection with the shooting.
At 7:49 p.m., a stabbing was reported to police that occurred on West Main Street.
Police said a 53-year-old man got into an altercation with the suspect before being stabbed.
The suspect fled the area and the victim declined medical treatment.
