A man was sentenced to 15 years in prison in connection with sexual assault to children and women, prosecutors announced this week.
Juan Belmontez, who was arrested in 2021 by the Stockton Police Department, had entered a guilty plea to charges that included sexual penetration with force, assault with intent to commit sexual penetration with force on a child under 18, and felony sexual battery with restraint that involved multiple victims.
In October 2021, Stockton detectives arrested Belmontez on suspicion of penetration with a foreign object on a child younger than 18 years of age, penetration with a foreign object, and several charges of sexual touching on persons intimate body parts.
Police said all of the victims were females ages 17-46.
At the time of the arrest, Belmontez was known in the community for being a masseuse who had allegedly been working from his home since 1999 without any professional training.
