A man reported missing over the weekend who had allegedly fallen or possibly jumped off a moving boat in the Whiskey Slough waterway east of Stockton was identified Tuesday.
The body of Brandon Swanson, 53, of Santa Clara, was found Sunday around 3 p.m., the San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed.
Deputies from the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office were called to the area in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta at 6 p.m. Saturday after a man had jumped or possibly fallen off a moving boat.
Dispatchers were told that the man, identified as Swanson, had not resurfaced.
The sheriff’s boating safety unit responded to the area, which is typically frequented by recreational boaters, to help search for the man. On Sunday, deputies said they returned during daylight hours to continue the search and at about 3 p.m., the body was recovered.
