Sheriff’s deputies in San Joaquin County on Saturday arrested a man suspected of fatally shooting three people in June.
Deputies were called to a residence in the 1500 block of E. Mettler Road in Lodi on June 8 for a welfare check. Concerned family members told officers that they had not been able to reach the people there in over a week.
Once inside the home, deputies discovered three adults dead from gunshot wounds.
An investigation led detectives to believe the shootings were targeted and carried out by Steven Guerrero, Jr., 25. The San Joaquin Sheriff’s Office said it did not alert the community about the shootings at the time in order to preserve the investigation.
On Saturday, Guerrero was arrested on suspicion of three counts of murder, along with burglary with a firearm enhancement.
The motive and circumstances of the shootings have not been released.
Guerrero is being held without bail at the San Joaquin County Jail.
