Police in Stockton are investigating two shootings that killed a man and a woman Saturday in separate incidents.
Officers arrived at Aurora Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard in the Seaport District about 6:30 p.m. on a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival, they discovered a 46-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to an area hospital, where he died.
A little over two hours later, just before 9 p.m., another call came in reporting a 22-year-old woman who was shot in the 1700 block of West Fremont Street in the Civic District. She was transported to a hospital, but also later died.
Detectives are investigating both shootings as homicides. No suspect information in either slaying was immediately available.
