Julio Ceasar Valdez is wanted in connection with the Dec. 23 slayings of Alice Montejano, 43, and her 19-year-old son, Reuel Huerta.

Police discovered the bodies of Montejano and Huerta about 11 p.m., two days before Christmas. Officers responded to the 2500 block of Belleview Avenue on a report of two unresponsive people. When they arrived, they found the mother and son dead at the scene.

Police have not released the cause of their deaths, but said the motive appears to be domestic-related. Authorities at the time said Montejano appeared to have been battered and her son had been cut.

Officers quickly identified Valdez, 38, as a suspect in the slayings and launched a manhunt. He was believed to be driving a gray four-door sedan. An image of Valdez has been released by police.

Authorities have now increased the initial $10,000 reward for information leading to Valdez’s arrest. Anyone who helps locate Valdez or has information helpful to the case could be eligible for a $35,000 reward, even if they remain anonymous, police said.
