Two teenagers were arrested Tuesday in connection with the shooting death of a 17-year-old near Anderson Park in Stockton earlier this month, authorities said.

The boys, ages 13 and 16, were taken into custody without incident and booked into San Joaquin County Juvenile Hall on homicide-related charges, Stockton police said in a news release. As juveniles, their names were not released. Detectives say the case is still under investigation.

The teens are suspected to have been involved in the killing of Julian Martinez, who was found with a gunshot wound at 10 p.m. Feb. 1 by officers who had been called to the 6300 block of north El Dorado Street near the park on reports of a person shot.

While no motive was given for the shooting, family members attending a memorial for the youth say he’d gone to the park to ride his bike, according to CBS News Sacramento. After police found him, Julian was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
