A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Stockton’s Valley Oak District, while three other suspects are still outstanding, police said.
An older teenager was walking near Bianchi Road and West Lane when multiple gunshots rang out Tuesday afternoon, authorities said. The youth, a 19-year-old who was not identified, sought safety and ran from the area. He soon realized that bullets had struck his clothing, although he was unharmed.
Police said four people suspected in the shooting then fled the scene in a stolen vehicle, which led deputies with the San Joaquin Sheriff’s Office on a short pursuit.
The car soon crashed into a fire hydrant, and the four suspects all fled on foot, authorities said.
Officers set up a perimeter and found one of the men, later identified as Ryan Glasgow. They also recovered three firearms.
Glasgow was arrested and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on numerous charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, vehicle theft, evading a peace officer and carrying a loaded weapon.
Glasgow is being held on $645,000 bail and is due in court Thursday to face 10 felony counts.
Police said three other suspects who were wearing dark clothing and face masks during the shooting are still at large.
Two other people were shot in Valley Oak District over the weekend. On Saturday, a 23-year-old man died after being shot in the 4500 block of north El Dorado Street. A 17-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the shooting the following day.
On Sunday, a woman was shot at in the 8000 block of Tam O’Shanter Drive. Police said the woman, who was not identified, was not harmed in the shooting, and there was not any immediate information regarding a suspect.
