A joint operation between San Joaquin County’s Probation Department and Sheriff’s Office ended with the arrest of six people over the weekend, including two juveniles, authorities said.
Operation Summer Breeze was created to target juvenile offenders suspected of violating the terms of their probation.
Probation officers working with sheriff’s deputies arrested the six on a variety charges, the department reported. Armed with warrants, officers said they conducted 17 searches that resulted in the seizure of narcotics, guns and ammunition.
“Efforts like these are part of our mission to reduce recidivism, hold high-risk youth accountable, and help prevent future violence in our community,” the department said in a statement about the operation posted on social media.
Two of those taken into custody were juveniles: a 15-year-old arrested on suspicion of possession of replica firearms and drug paraphernalia and a 17-year-old sought under a bench warrant.

Two 18-year-olds were arrested as adults. One of them, along with his stepfather, were taken into custody on charges of possession of live ammunition. Both were prohibited from having ammunition under terms of their probation from previous arrests.
The other 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possessing a loaded gun, having a high-capacity magazine and more ammunition.
The final arrest included a 19-year-old arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and having a replica firearm. That suspect also had a bench warrant for their arrest.
The adults were booked into the San Joaquin County jail. The minors were taken to the county’s Juvenile Justice Center, authorities said.
