Two Stockton men on probation and parole were arrested this week on suspicion of being in possession of thousands of dollars’ worth of stolen property, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office said.

On Tuesday, deputies responded to Big E Self Storage on Newton Road in Stockton after a man was seen jumping the fence and cutting of a lock on a storage unit, the Sheriff’s Office said. The man fled in a vehicle with another suspect and was stopped by deputies.

A search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered $33,000 worth of stolen property, including cash, collectibles, tools, and bolt cutters allegedly used in the break-in.

Arrested were Brandon Ellingson, 42, who is currently on probation for being in possession of a stolen vehicle and had a warrant out of San Francisco, and Johnathan King, 30, who is on parole and had two warrants out for alleged negligent discharge of a firearm, burglary, and conspiracy.

Both were booked into San Joaquin County jail on suspicion of burglary, vandalism, and being in possession of burglary tools, and are being held without bail, according to jail records.
