A 60-year-old man escaped injury Sunday afternoon after a suspect tried to attack him with a sword and a torch in Stockton, police said.
The attack happened around 3 p.m. on the 4900 block of South State Route 99 Frontage Road, according to the Stockton Police Department. The man was in the area when he got into an altercation with the suspect, described as a white man.
The suspect allegedly swung a sword at the victim and missed, then attempted to burn him with a torch before fleeing the scene.
Police said the victim was not hurt. The suspect had not been located as of Sunday evening.
