A 39-year-old man was injured in a shooting in Stockton late Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The shooting was reported at 4:53 p.m. in the 800 block of South Hunter Street, where a suspect believed to be a juvenile male approached the victim, took out a handgun and shot him, according to Stockton police.
The victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound to his back and is expected to survive, police said.
The suspect fled on foot and investigators have not released a detailed description of him or a possible motive for the shooting.
