Stockton police are investigating after a person was stabbed Tuesday morning on San Joaquin Street and later died at a hospital.

Officers responded about 8:46 a.m to the 400 block of San Joaquin Street after receiving a report of a person stabbed, according to the Stockton Police report.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where they later died from their injuries, police said. Detectives responded and took over the investigation.

Police didn’t release the victim’s name, age or gender. No suspect information was included in the report.

The death is the latest homicide reported in Stockton this month. As of Tuesday, police records showed 14 homicides in the city this year, compared with 18 during the same period last year.
