A 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a double homicide in north Stockton, police said.
Detectives identified Nathan Thomas Miller as a suspect in the shooting deaths of a man and woman in the city’s Lakeview District.
Officers responded to a shooting at Pershing Avenue and Rosemarie Lane about 9:20 p.m. Friday. They found two people suffering from gunshots wounds in an alley. Both were transported to an area hospital, police said, where they died from their injuries.
The names of the victims have not yet been released. Police have described them only as a 58-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman. It was not immediately clear whether there was any connection between the two.
On Thursday, officials with the San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s office said they were still trying to notify next of kin.
Miller was located Thursday and arrested without incident, Stockton police said. Booking records at the San Joaquin County Jail show he is being held without bail on two felony counts of suspicion of murder.
He has a court date, likely an arraignment, scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday in San Joaquin County Superior Court.
Little else was immediately available regarding the shootings, including a motive, or on Miller. Jail records describe him as tall and thin: 6-foot, 11-inches tall and weighing 160 pounds.
