A train struck a pickup truck that was partially on the railroad tracks near east Weber Avenue late Sunday, but no one was injured in the collision, Stockton police said.
Officers responded around 11:05 p.m. to the tracks near east Weber and Union Street, near downtown, and found a train had crashed into a silver Nissan pickup, police spokesperson David Scott said Monday.
Police found a man outside the pickup. He did not appear to be suffering from any injuries, authorities said. In addition, no injuries were reported among those onboard the train.
Guadalupe Mendoza, 52, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail. Police said DUI was the primary factor in the collision.
Mendoza is being held on $110,000 bail and is slated to appear in court Wednesday, according to booking records.
