Nearly two weeks after a Lodi man turned up at an area hospital with stab wounds that ultimately proved fatal, police have arrested a woman and a teenager on suspicion of murder in his death.
Nikole Ramos, 35, was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on Thursday. Lodi detectives say they have linked her to the death of Roberto Ramos, 37.
A 16-year-old boy also was booked in connection with the man’s death. The teen, whose name was not released because of his age, was taken to juvenile hall.
Lodi police did not identify any relationship between the victim and the suspects. Funeral information for Roberto Ramos, however, lists a Nikole Ramos as his wife.
The case began Aug. 15 when authorities were called to Adventist Health Lodi Memorial Hospital after Roberto Ramos arrived shortly before noon with stab wounds. Police did not say how the Lodi resident came to the hospital or the nature of his injuries.
Despite life-saving measures taken at the hospital, Ramos died, police said.
Even with the recent arrests, police say the investigation is ongoing. They encourage anyone with information to contact Detective Valencia at (209) 269-4826. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Lodi Area Crime Stoppers at (209) 369-2746, referencing LPD Case #26-4698.
Nikole Ramos, who is being held without bail, is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
