A San Joaquin County man was sentenced to over five years in state prison for felony drug trafficking and child endangerment, the county’s District Attorney’s Office said Monday.
Antonio Guzman Tolentino was given five years and four months in prison last Wednesday after he pleaded no contest to felony transportation of heroin and child endangerment.
On Feb. 15, California Highway Patrol officers pulled over Guzman Tolentino and a K-9 alerted them to the presence of drugs in his vehicle. A search revealed 1,074.4 grams of heroin, more than a kilogram, hidden in the car’s engine compartment.
Guzman Tolentino’s 12-year-old son was also in the vehicle at the time of the stop, prompting additional charges of child endangerment.
