A man turned himself in Sunday to law enforcement in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred last week in Stockton, police said.
Tyrece Smith, 45, surrendered at the Stockton Police Department and was booked into San Joaquin County Jail. On Aug. 10 officers had responded at 10:23 a.m. to the 500 block of Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on a report of a person shot. A man was found dead at the scene.
His name has not been released.
Police said detectives had continued to work on the case since the homicide occurred until Smith ultimately surrendered.
