BART train service is back up and running systemwide for the first time Friday after being shut down for hours due to a computer networking problem.
BART announced that the trains were running again at about 9:20 a.m. after initially alerting commuters shortly before 4:30 a.m. about the service disruption.
Officials with the transit agency previously said that there would just be limited East Bay service resuming earlier Friday before eventually saying trains would also be running in San Francisco and San Mateo counties.
BART didn’t say what might have led to the computer problem.
