Investigators are working to learn more after a body was found along a shoreline near Stockton earlier this week.

The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office is treating the case as a suspicious death after deputies responded to a report of a person in the water near Rio Blanco Road. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the person or additional details about what may have happened as the investigation continues.

Elsewhere, Stockton’s emergency food bank has received a $1.15 million federal grant to help expand operations as demand for food assistance continues to rise across the region. Stockton police also reported seizing guns and ammunition during a recent sideshow crackdown that resulted in more than 100 vehicles being impounded.
