The San Joaquin County Community Development Department now offers an online system to schedule appointments, helping residents, contractors and business owners access services without long waits.
The initiative uses the Qless platform, according to a press release from San Joaquin County.
To book an appointment, customers select their preferred visit time in advance from their computers or mobile devices. Once booked, they receive confirmation and can arrive at the location at their scheduled time. The new system reduces wait times, allows better visit planning and helps staff deliver more efficient personalized assistance.
“People’s time is valuable, and this new online scheduling option lets us respect that,” said Jennifer Jolley, director of the San Joaquin County Community Development Department, in a press release. “By enabling customers to book appointments in advance, we create a more predictable, efficient, and customer-focused experience and help our staff prepare to provide personalized, high-quality service.”
The Community Development Department handles a variety of essential functions for the county, including issuing permits for construction and development projects, overseeing planning and zoning matters, conducting building inspections and assisting with code compliance issues.
These services are critical for residents undertaking home improvements, businesses launching new ventures, or contractors navigating regulatory requirements in San Joaquin County.
The Qless system works by balancing customer demand with available staff resources, according to the community development department. Users can select a date and time, then arrive at the office ready for their appointment, skipping the traditional queue.
